On May 24 the VI VTB-wide corporate sports competition took place at Luzhniki Olympic Sports Complex. It is an annual corporate event that, in line with the Group’s tradition gathered teams from across Russia – as well as from the other continents of the world where the VTB Group is represented. This year over 700 contestants took part in VTB’s main sports event of the year. These were winners of regional qualifying competitions conducted at VTB branches during the spring, and teams of the Group’s subsidiary banks and companies, including VTB – Asia and Africa team, VTB – Europe team, teams from Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Bank VTB – North-West, VTB 24, VTB-Insurance, and VTB-Leasing.
The official Olympics opening ceremony started at 11:00 with a parade of drummers and a spectacular line-up of the participating teams. Vassily Titov, Bank VTB Deputy President – Chairman of the Management Board, welcomed guests and participants in the competitions. 
This year, the program of the Olympics has been widened up to 12 competitive sports, viz., mini-soccer, volleyball, street-ball, floor-ball, track and field athletics, darts, weight lifting, golf, tennis, paintball, bowling and go-carting. 
2008 is the year of VTB-Leasing’s debut. The team took part in the mini-soccer competition and won the third place in its sub-group.
Additionally, sportive and entertainment contests combined into the program “Energy of Your Team” were conducted specially for the sport fans. Both adult and adolescent guests of the Olympics took part in go-carting, table hockey, tennis, and football competitions.
The VI VTB Olympics, which once again brought together numerous representatives of the Group and guests of the event proved to be a bright and exciting festival that culminated with a picturesque fireworks show.
